Troubleshoot the Slack Integration

Diagnose Slack authorization and channel-access problems by symptom.

Use this guide when Slack cannot connect or IncidentFlow cannot read the expected channels.

Slack shows as not connected

Possible causes:

  • the OAuth flow was not completed;
  • the authorization was revoked in Slack;
  • the token expired.

Re-run the OAuth authorization from IncidentFlow → Integrations → Slack.

A channel returns no messages

Verify:

  • the channel is in the approved list;
  • IncidentFlow was invited to (or has access to) the channel;
  • the channel has recent activity within the configured history window;
  • the request resolves to the correct workspace.

Authorization keeps failing

Confirm that:

  • you have permission to authorize apps in the Slack workspace;
  • your Slack admin has not restricted third-party app installation;
  • you are authorizing into the correct Slack workspace.

Collect diagnostic information

When contacting support, include the workspace, the affected channel name, the approximate time, and the MCP request_id. Never include tokens or message contents that may be sensitive.
